    That fragmentation makes a warrant search in Florida more labor-intensive than in states with centralized judicial databases. A person with ties to multiple counties — say, a prior address in Duval and a pending matter in Broward — would need to query each jurisdiction separately, and even then might find that a smaller county's records are not available online at all.

    Are Warrants Public Information in Florida?

    Florida's public records framework is among the broadest in the country. Section 119.07, Florida Statutes — the Sunshine Law — requires every custodian of a public record to permit inspection and copying by any person, at any reasonable time, without requiring that the requester state a purpose. The right of access is reinforced at the constitutional level by Article I, Section 24 of the Florida Constitution, which elevates open government to a fundamental right rather than a mere statutory grant.

    Arrest warrants and bench warrants (capias) issued by Florida courts are public records once signed by the judge. An arrest warrant becomes part of the court file upon issuance under F.S. § 901.02, and the associated probable-cause affidavit is likewise a public record. Coverage is voluntary — not every agency submits every warrant — so a negative result does not confirm that no warrant exists.
    3. Check the county clerk's online records. Many of Florida's 67 clerks of court offer public case searches through Civitek's Online Court Records Search.     How Long Is a Warrant Active in Florida?
